Game won't start
Endless Space 2 will not launch. The icon appears in my ribbon, but Task Manager says it is not responding. I recently upgraded to a new computer after my old one failed. The new computer has higher specs than my old one; I was looking forward to seeing how it handled this game.

Perhaps a simple start Endless Space 2.exe admin rights included would fix it. As long as you don't offer any useful information about your specs, you can check out this thread with the most common fixes: https://steamcommunity.com/app/392110/discussions/0/350544272217377139/

Lemme see. 12 GB of ram, 2.70 GHz processor, 1366 by 768 resolution.

Task Manager says the game is using 8.5 GB but nothing is happening for >15 minutes

You make use of Windows 7, 10 or Mac? What kind of graphics card do you have? Drivers (especially graphic cards one) up to date? Do you make use of additional antivirus software (like Avast, Avira, BitDefender, i.e.). Your Endless Space 2 folder does have read/write rights? Did you try to give admin rights to Endless Space 2.exe file, yet? Do you have an error message you could quote?

b) Mac: located by default under "User/YOUR_USER_NAME/Library/Application Support/Endless Space 2/Temporary Files"

Same here.. tried all of the things mentioned in the linked topic, it always crashes at the beginning of the loading screen right after the intro.

Same here, post the requested files (using drop box link, i.e.).

I use Windows 10, AMD R7 graphics, Symantec Antivirus, and I am the administrator account. Unfortunately, there is no error message. I tried playing around with the read/write settings and little change. As before, the symbol appears on the task ribbon, and this time there was a noise like the developer logo- but the game has not actually launched.

Update: if you click the logo and wait half a minute, music resembling that of the main menu plays. Perhaps the game is simply transparent?

A line from the diagnostic:
Changing display settings to 0x0, 60Hz... failed to set matching resolution.

Interesting. A different game I own also was complaining about being unable to set resolution to 0x0.

A line from the output log:

I just tried running it on the two settings below 1366 by 768. Slight difference. On those settings, the screen goes black and the music plays. Hitting the windows key allows for an escape. Still not a playable state.

Definitely something graphics related. I checked and my drivers are up-to-date

Try setting your desktop to 1024x768

Didn't work, I'm afraid

Worth a shot:

Delete your settings file here

C:\Users\your username\Documents\Endless Space 2\Users\298651684\Registry.xml

and try to loda the game

Edit: Make sure you run steam.exe and Endless Space 2.exe admin rights included (even I guess you still do).
