Sophon Quest Bugged?

I've played through 3 games with the Sophons now and only the first phase of their faction quest ever triggers, beyond that - nothing. Is that a known bug?

We'll need some additional info on this. Which of the three quest options do you take, and at which objective does the quest not proceed?

I always took the ''explore 50% of the galaxy'' option which rewards the Sophon free move, after that is completed the quest never advances.

I've tried to reproduce this, and the next step of the quest triggered as expected at the start of the next turn. If this doesn't happen for you, could you supply a save?

Yeah, but those saves will be 50+ turns after the completion of the first part, that alright?

It happened again, I included a bunch of autosaves in this .rar that are before and after the event didn't trigger. I finish part 1, get the sophon free move and the faction quest never advances

sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've taken a look at the various saves, and unfortunately I wasn't able to see the cause of the issue, so I can't suggest any workaround. I have sent your saves to the team.

No I haven't, but it bugged out 4 times when I tried to take the ''explore 50% of the galaxy'' option which rewards the Sophon free move, on the 5th time I chose the Diplomatic option which involved buttering up a minor civilisation and the faction quest worked properly all the way to the end after choosing that path.

Maybe it's because I don't have the DLC? because I didn't see anyone else having similar issues when I googled it (I'm guessing most people who played ES2 a lot had the dlc and I'm late to the party as usual)

I have the same bug. I just realized that after completing the Chapter 1. the second never appeared. I choose the option that awarded Sophon Free Move (orbit 2 systems in different constellations)

Was this never fixed? The latest mac version in Jan 2024 seams to still have this bug.

Not that I expect them to fix it at this point, but this is apparently still an issue.
