Is it playable now after the unending AI turn issue supposedly fixed?

Is there any performance issue? I'm planning to buy the game for Christmas. Should I defer from buying and buy it after more bugs and optimization have been dealt with?

Sometimes they get pretty long, but often the save/exit/reload helps speed things up.

I have run into the Hero-in-a-Ship issue (kill him, it bugs game), but usually can back up several turns and try again, and things turn out differently.

It's rather enjoyable. Especially now after the latest patch.

My experience has been different. Still facing quite a number of endless turns. It can be solved by reloading but occasionally, I get a corrupt file that can't be reloaded. So you may need to save scum. Hopefully, this will be fixed considering I have way more processor intensive games that run smoothly on my pc. Otherwise, it's still an enjoyable game overall.

Also there are no flash/community/etc sales on Steam anymore. As such whatever the price of the game is right now, is the price of that game throughout the Steam Winter Sale. ES2 has not been changed from the $29.99 pricing. As such it will not be on sale for the remainder of the sale.

With regards to turn times there are two separate issues

1) is the turns actually totally freezing and never ending. This, from my own supposition, is more based on sync issues with the AI external module and the game. The latest patch has largely resolved this issue.

2) turns just taking a long time. This is a combination of a ton of factors like AI optimization, memory usage, etc. Thus some people note restaring the game fixes it (which would correlate to memory usage), while others note it doesn't help (making it more likely more sync issues with the AI or just other things going on)
