Resources that do not exist on the map.

I have found that sometimes a luxury resource might pop up that doesn't actually have any supply on the map, so you cannot ever get more of it. Seems to be that if the player or the AI gain a rare resource type from a quest or randomly from exploration, that it makes it available in the trade screen, and you can set it as an option for development levels, but you cannot actually get any more.

Seems to happen mostly on smaller maps with low luxury resources settings. Confirmed this in two games now. One of them I completely screwed myself because I set the rings to my level 2 development and there were only ever 5 in the entire game. Didn't realise until the entire galaxy was explored. lol

Luxury resources seem very broken right now. The game isn't even following it's own galaxy gen settings for them and is consistantly failing to generate as many sources as it's supposed to. The quest and curiosity reward system are probably looking at what resources were supposed to generate and handing those out, while the galaxy gen itself is just not generating them.

Yeah, how it seems to me also. I am sure they will get to it at some point. :)
Seems like it would be a good basic thing to solve asap though.

Normally the game uses a droplist that only selects resources generated in the galaxy. Could we have your save so we can take a look at it? It might be that for some reason the droplist selected a resource that wasn't generated but should have... but we'll have to investigate for that.
