Game won't display at launch
Hey, I just got the game a couple days ago, and I'm having an issue where when I launch the game, the icon appears in the taskbar and I can hear launch sounds, but the game itself won't display. I'm running the game on a laptop with windows 10 and Nvidia switchable graphics. I changed documents to not be read-only, I'm running the exe as admin, I set the program to run with the nvidia card in the control panel, I updated my graphics drivers, I turned on compatability for Windows 7, and I haven't gotten any changes.

Whenever I try to verify the local game cache, it claims there's a file that's wrong or missing, and that it'll fix it on next launch, but it doesn't. I tried adjusting registry.xml to force the game into windowed mode on startup, and while a window did pop up, it showed nothing but a black screen, with startup sounds still playing.

Also I verified in task manager that it's running the game with the high performance gpu, which is an nvidia gtx 860M.

Oh, I also tried reinstalling the game, and got the same results.

Any suggestions?

ensure you are forcing the game explicitly to use the nvidia card. Do not use the 'default' option as that may not work.

Otherwise post your dxdiag/output log and diagnostics file

I verified that I was explicitly running with the nvidia card, here's the abridged versions of DxDiag and output_log. There are a couple of oddities here, most notably a few nullreference exceptions in output_log and that the recorded gpu in output_log is the 960M, while everything else on my system reports an 860M. Also there's a missing file 'mono.exe?' not sure what that is.

Hey man, have the exact same thing going on. You ever get a response or figure it out? Just a little older of graphics card so imagining your fix will solve my issue.

Same here with the added oddity that it DID work until 3 weeks ago, and I've made no changes to my system.
