stuck on loading screen

Uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I am not making it to the menu page.

When I run the verify integrity I keep getting 1 file failed and will be reaquired message. Uninstalled and reinstalled twice now.

same as me..I last played this on early release but too buggy..came back today and can't get past loading screen...just hangs... very frustrating as I thought new patch things all fixed!

It is a seperaqte gpu, it is not integrated.

It is not the graphics card. The game was already using the NVIDIA gpu to start up. I requested a refund as this looks like a common problem with no real fix. I am disappointed as this looks like a decent game.

I have seen the same problem on the forums. Steam has refunded the game, I will keep on eye to see if the developers fix and I may try it again.

Hey guys! That seems to be a codecs issue: could you try to start the game with the "-novideo" launch options? If that works, could you update your FFmepeg codecs via your main media player (like VLC) or with the K-lite codec pack: http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_basic.htm

but I had the same exact problem.

See if you can look in your Anti virus and see if ES2 was block. could be the problem. I also refunded it.

I had already put it on Bitdefender's allowed list. I even tried shutting down the firewall and antivirus to see if that helped. It did not fix the problem. For whatever reason, whenver I downlaoded the game and then verified the file integrity there was always one unknown file that was a problem.

Thanks Dagart for getting back to me. I have already had the game refunded. I will keep an eye on the boards to see if the problems are fixed. I may purchase the game in the future, but for now it is too buggy for my system.

shouldnt this be impossible? widows 10 updater should already update to the latest codecs because of window media player still being the standard player. if that is the case, then the player has caused some deeply rooted issues.

also, this problem seems uncommon. shouldnt other games they own also suffer from this? is endless space 2 using codecs not usually advised?

Some player disabled windows auto-update and some codecs could be obsolete. Personally, I use VLC to update video codecs.
