Grunts or fake alien babbling a la Stellaris would have been more suitable.
Why? Because it's an obvious quip aimed at Stellaris who ran their entire game development cycle with the slogan "Make space great again."? Or do you really think it has anything at all to do with the fop who started the meme?
That's about as likely as any one on twitch making a reference to Josh DeSeno when they use the kappa emote. Even less so than that since “Let’s Make America Great Again” was originally the slogan of Ronald Reagan, Trump just stole it and turned it into a meme. As with all memes the original relation/intent loses its relevence. It was a meme used by Stellaris, so it was a meme used by ES2.
What makes you think thy sound Irish in any way?
A megalomaniac trillionair, who runs his own Empire is clearly a reference to Trump, not Stellaris.
I myself don't mind it too much, but at least it is an "issue" worth discussing, rather than "Irish Sophons", who don't even sound that Irish.
Like I said, I have nothing against accents, but it breaks immersion. The narrator should speak English, that's about it.
