Any chance that's because they don't like each other? Sohpons are pacifists, Vodyani are warmongers.

Kind of an unstable alliance in the first place you've got there.

Did you fly any ships through their sphere of influence or fly through systems with their outposts on them?

they both had the heart symbol when i cheked there relations once i left the allaince they were nice .

Curious, have you ever played a 4x where diplomacy wasn't total trash? I think it's a limit of game AI not being able to do a full monte carlo style search in a timeframe acceptable to players and "faux" AI theory in games having not evolved to a point where it's really usable. I tend to ignore diplomacy in every game I play because it always just comes down to negotiating with the flaws with the AI, not interacting with the AI factions in any real sense thus destroying immersion and therein _why bother_.

Oh right, your point was about the mismatch between sentiment and audio stream, yeah that's kinda dumb. Maybe they only have a small handful of streams and they weight them in the direction of the sentiment but can never really cover it properly. Again, diplomacy is trash in all 4x's. Ignore diplomacy, live well! Just throw some money or goods at them at some point, they'll shut up again, then steamroll them cheeky bastards once you have super ships.

How good are those ship renders though? hooo boy I loves them.

From the next update's release notes:

- Removed transition in alliance state based on impossible predicates (demands to ally are forbidden) resulting in strange mood messages

I agree there is a larger, underlying problem here in terms of how races who are at peace, react to one another. It's not really consistent with what we'd expect, especially if you've been at peace for many turns without incident (say 60 or more). Going to post a suggestion thread for this. Hope you guys will chime in.
