Planet List
Is this game going to get this basic 4x space game tool?

Just spent 2h looking for it in the game, only to find out it doesn't exist. There are some things that are just *standard* in this type of game. And there are really good reasons as to why. Basically on larger maps it becomes nearly impossible to expand an empire effectively.

It is a staple.

It is necessary.

You get that right?

Right?

I'm fine with the listed systems I own. Don't care about.

Well. Doesn't matter if *you* need it or not.

Example: Color Blind Mode.

Standard. Staple.

And yet, if you aren't color blind you don't need it. However 8% of males are color blind (red-green) and 0.5% of females. Which if a game relies heavily upon colorization *most* game designers incorporate because otherwise it would be 8% less sales. (Assuming a likely ratio.)

The game has a Color Blind Mode. And yet another standard in this type of game: Planet List - is absent.

You get that right?

Right?

I could be wrong, but that would go completely against my Empire Wide Bonus: Always Right.
So you want a listing of unowned planets? Why? There arent that many within reach of your borders, and you need them by your borders so the enemy doesnt conquer them through territorial assimilation. This isnt Stellaris where you have many stars without habitable worlds. In ES2 you can colonize every world, including Gas worlds, so every system becomes colonizable at some point, and the map visually shows you via a solid white dot which systems have planets you can colonize now.

There really is no reason to look at an individual planet. The game runs on a per system bases, not a per planet one.

That said, the System list needs more sorting options. Like, for example, the order in which they were settled.

So... need and want are too different things. I don't NEED any menus, or extra breakdowns of the stats of a particular planet. I can just look up what the tiny icon means and then memorize it. I can also just memorize all of the planets I ever encounter and then just remember which one I want to colonize next.

But... I WANT a planet list that shows me what planets are available, what their stats are, and maybe even have a link that lets me jump to its location so I can manually verify where they are. OR... maybe its not a full screen list, so I can actually see the galaxy map and have the system highlight as I mouse over the planet in question. It could even group the planets by system, since the game is pretty much system based.

However, bottom line is this... I am currently looking at a large tundra planet 2 systems from my colony ship. Do I send my colony ship there first, or do I send it to a different system because that other system has better planets? Well... let me just visit EVERY SINGLE SYSTEM AND MANUALLY VERIFY!! That sounds fun! I could do that, but I'd rather spend my time playing the game part of the game, and not the zoom part of the game.

Exactly, well said! I own the first game and now i bought the second because many people say it is really really good.
Well... this planet list is STILL not there.. ok. Very bad!
My fault!
I remember when i started playing the first Endless Space that some people were talking about something like: this makes the game too easy.

Hahaha, not really. It can't be that a game is fun when you have to do things that are re-tar-ded.

Anyway, maybe it is for me too soon to complain.
Now i will settle every planet that there is.. But I am sure, there is a limit. If theres not, well, I will doing fine with that, because if a planet is colonized or lets say, settled, they are in the list!
So expand expand expand!
