Question about Auriga's rate of apperance in-game.
It seems like Auriga shows up a lot less often in this game in comparison to Endless Space (the original), where it appeared every game.

Is it just due to the galaxy size i'm playing at? (Medium, to test the new patch in comparison to how it was before on the same setting) Or is it (and other unique planets) no longer guaranteed to spawn into the game?

In Endless Space, I really loved making Auriga into my capital of technology given it's huge science buffs, and have been hoping to be able to do the same in this game, yet it's been extraordinarily uncommon it seems in comparison to the original in my experience.

Though some of this could be due to you no longer being told if someone discovers Auriga, as It did show up in one of my games, colonized by another faction, and I wasn't aware it was discovered.

I get Auriga often in ES2

Well, you have to consider that, unlike ES1, there's six options for the generator to choose from when it spawns a unique planet. Every galaxy size has a set amount of uniques that can appear (minus the Academy and starting planets); for example, normal size has 3 that will spawn. On a side note, I find it weird that that is the most ANY size of galaxy will spawn, up to and including Gigantic.

Hope this sheds some light on this! :elscience: :eldust:

That's just wrong. If I chose the biggest possible map then there should be room for everything on that map. That's kinda the idéa with the biggest maps...

I'd like it to be in all of my maps. So far it has been in none. :steamsad:

You can change this by browsing the game files and going to this directory: steamapps/common/Endless Space 2/Public/Settings. There, open the 'WorldSettingDefinitions' file. You should see blocks of text for each galaxy size. Find the line 'UniquePlanetQuantity', and change the value to what you desire. Note that this will disable multiplayer unless the other player(s) have also made the exact same changes as you.

Thanks! I'll do that from now on. This should be a feature in the game. :)

Seconded. I'll make sure to do that before my next game.

No problem! You can change so much of the game by parsing through the public folder, I'd seriously recommend just dedicating some time to it, especially the Simulation subfolder!

Also, shameless plug for my mod Influential Amoeba on the workshop :D

That screams of the possibility for a trainer kinda cheat program where you change game parameters before a game instead of cheating midgame. :)

Well, seeing as changes don't apply unless you restart the game, and that the AI would ALSO get the same changes, I don't see the point of a trainer.

I was thinking about how they usually work. Dive into game files and change some hex values here and there. So a program along those lines where I don't have to go into the files and change them manually instead start a program that finds and alters the values for me when I click something like "6 unique planets". Could open up for changing a lot of more map and game features that aren't changeable in the game. If it brakes the game somehow it would be on us instead of Amplitude Studios to fix.

Thank you for the tip! On all my games, not once has this planet showed up for me. Will try this for my next game then set it back the way it was.
