Moving population manually bethween systems
New to ES2 and since theres a lack of tutorial, Il ask here.

Can you move your population from one system to another manually (as in ship them whitout making a colony ship)? Im having trouble with overpopulation on some of my planets and would love to manually migrate population.

Yes, you can do so after leveling up star system to level 2. You'll unlock star port, that has 2 slots at the bottom of side panel.
AFAIR, creating colony ships don't consume population anymore.

You need to have unlocked tier 3 in the right tech tree. Then in the Market section you can configure how your settlement upgrade will behave. Then you build that upgrade in the system

Once you do that the system view will have slots to move population in the left side

Note population moved this way spawns an actual transport. This transport can be destroyed. Ensure you have a clear path to the target system

Necroing this for a problem regarding Genehunter

The Minor Civilizations are usually few constellations away

Assimilating them is possible, but growing them there without support is impossible

So I want to transfer those pops back to my region to grow safely

But the only method is spaceport and they will die on the way because of pirates and stuffs

Is there no transport ship that I can escort in a fleet?

Hello, as you say few constellations away, I imagine you already unlocked the Baryonic Shielding tech and some of the other Science and Exploration ones that provide increased speed to civilian fleets outside starlanes.
There is no way to merge the civilian automated ships with your fleets. The way to escort those convoys would be moving your military fleet along the same path, and leave it guarding the dangerous nodes until the convoys pass. If there is an hostile fleet already guarding there, you will need to fight, as they won't probably let your civilians pass even if your fleet is there, or wait for them to move elsewhere. Repeat the escorting for each node on the way until they are safe in your territories.

Needless to say that if the convoy is particularly important, with several pops, so should be the escorting fleet: if they are destroyed, you are going to lose your civilians too, so make a decent fleet.

Can I ask you what is the problem you find in growing the minor population on their system?

No you can't tag population along a military fleet , there is no ship for that.

Just have a fleet from were you send your pop and always fly and camp the system they move trough. Your military vessels should be so much faster than your civilian ships.

You could bribe the pirates into not attack you if you own the vaulter dlc, you could also buy a pirate mark to draft their fleets away from your route (with vaulter dlc).

Or just simply get rid of all pirate bases but i guess thats not an option in your game

Can we see the route these civilian ships take?
So I know which node to guard

The minor civs I assimilated are surrounded by enemy factions
No safe routes for trade and supply lane
Can't send food so can't grow fast
And it's in danger to be attacked any time so impossible
Of course I can buy out improvements and ship
But I don't want this system at all
I just want the pops to be spliced

mhmmm it's the fastest route normally, if there are several paths due to the position, then i would try to check with a normal fleet, assign them the move order and see what path it takes, it's likely the same the civilian convoy would...
otherwise, build the escort fleet first, send the civilians, see what route they take and have the escort ships to follow, they are probably faster so they will reach each node before the convoy, and guard it for them. In case of problems, save and reload.

And after you move all the pops you want, then just sell all buildings and raze/evacuate the system if you don't want it, you would also get a colony ship.
