How do I remove those thrice-cursed vines?
I recently invaded the Unfallen homeworld, for the glory of the Emperor (:Hire:), but now I can't seem to get rid of the vine. As far as I can tell it is slowing down my vessels enourmously, and I have heard that they might be capable of seizing control of systems outright.

If I were to vanquish their entire civilization, would that remove the vines? I hope I don't have to order an exterminatus, but it would certainly be preferable to the current arrangement.

On a completely unrelated note, what is the best way to "neutralise undesirable elements of society" in ES2? Those unfallen aren't very useful, are they?

If they're entwining your system, nuke the vineships to the ground.

AFAIK you need to capture their homeworld and they will be defeated.

Send them on useless colony (recently captured), then chain gang until able to withdraw colony. Repeat with remaining colony ship until you will get rid of them.

There really needs to be a purge option. I swear neither this game nor Stellaris, both that heavily deal with pops, give you the proper tools to handle them properly.

in stellaris you can easily purge alien pops. you just need to become an authoritarian alien hating jerk, and give up all the other fancy perks.

You also need to be xenophobic, which means unless you specifically craft the worst most evil race in the game you can't ever purge pops, which is utterly ridiculous for a number of reasons.

Hmm, yes, sterilisation really isn't that inhumane, especially since the living conditions are still amazing.

the vine removal part of this thread was never answered, still looking for the answer to that myself.

Yeah... I ended up having to choose every faction. Every game. Just to avoid the unfallen and their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ vines.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Wait... really? It must have been a bug then, too bad no one told me, haha. I guess I don't have to disable them next game then. :)

Aren't you a developer? I'm not understanding why you are guessing. Any way to know for sure?

Because I'm speaking from experience only (I'm not a designer). In my playthroughs, if I meet an Unfallen, I either take them head-on or ally with them. I don't want no grassroots movements on my planets, no thank you.
