you ca lose a connection if a system is conquered
After awhile your planets in the 3rd system will be decolonized as well since in essence you've lost control of the system
Thanks for this explanation! That's exactly what I was looking for.
I have a follow-up question to that - does the decolonization still happen if you have non-Unfallen pops in the colony? (Although I have no idea how I would be able to migrate a non-main pop across systems)
And another one - how close does it need to be to make a vine path? I'm not asking about starlanes (there seems to be no limit on distance for that), but free space distance
You can see the vine connections. if it doesn't have multiple vine connections to that system then you will lose it should the main vine die.
For example i just connected with a new system. there is only the one travel lane but the vines made a second connection from a nearby system. if i were to lose the travel path the vines from the other nearby system would still be in effect and i wouldn't lose the system.
However on the other side of my empire i made a connection to a system that was a 3 turn travel to the system. there is no close enough systems i control to created a second vine. the planets i would connect after that would be lost as i have no other major vine connection to the system.
