The process of trying to play this game again after a taking a break is stupid. When I logged in successfully, they locked my account and forced me to change my password. Then, I'm not allowed to play because I don't have a valid license? Better bust out the CC and buy things until it works again, right? Wasn't an issue before. What a strange way to say you don't want people to play your game...

I would love to give this game a positive review because I've enjoyed it all the way up to shadow bringers but I am unable to renew my sub Because Square Enix changed how they accept payments from the mog station or some stupid ♥♥♥♥ And now I sit here and wait Unable to play this game

I found i like the game-play, and since i'm a causal gamer and live a busy life. having to buy the game then all the dlc, and on top of that payed $80 twice for a year (something close to 160 for a full year) it was really expensive for me. since i only got to actually sit down and play it a couple times. then when i tried to come back i was locked out and had to change my password. just to get the game to lunch and then to play again i would have to sink even more money into this to play. just not worth the coin. in my eyes.

Being forced to slog through the endless main quest lines, where at least half (I'm not making this up) of it is "go speak to this person in one city, then speak to that person in another city," is like Chinese water torture. You think you're nearing the end to finally make it to the next expansion, and then you're slapped in the face with the continuation of the quest line from post-release content updates. None of it is particularly compelling. You can do the gaggle of side quests available in any location but you'll still have to do the main quest to proceed. It wouldn't be such a chore if the areas outside of the cities were interesting, too, but it's just boring landscapes with linear paths. I understand the later expansions upped the fidelity, and the screenshots make it look great, but I'll never know because I can't bring myself to spend another 40 hours on something I don't enjoy just on the off-chance that I might enjoy it once I've caught up.

The launcher of this game is known to be the worst ever made since 2014. A lot of people have to create a new account when they come back to the game. And forget getting any form of support. 2 weeks minimum before I got a reply to my email only to be told nothing other than a pre-written answer that didn't fix anything.
It's so bad in fact that people had to create a 3rd party launcher after school that actually work. SquareEnix being another failure of a modern multi-million dollars company.
