it is indeed, I mean no wonder. You pay a sub fee to wait for a patch every 4.5 months.

Every patch is basically the same : crusts of MSQ that lasts 1 to 2 hours at best, 1 dungeon and trial included, and maybe, maybe... some raid bosses.

Same formula for years with 0 exploration, 0 longterm engaging content. It's just a chat simulator and for the thirstiest ones an ERP simulator.

I do not understand why people want this to be a free service. Clearly they have no understanding that the servers, which need to be maintained or updated, are power hungry beasts which has a high power-to-service cost. It is not like servers are powered on pixie dust. I just wish SqEx chose a more optimised engine than Source/Havok as it is a very heavy engine and is also a dinosaur one at that. It is also more prone to DDoS due to the nature of the binaries being so poorly written. Surely Unity3d or Unreal Engine 5 would be a good candidate, but sadly, the game is built so much around this engine that it will not be possible without a complete re-write of everything. Another problem with Unity3d and UE5 is you need a quantum computer to run the full potential of these engines.

I heard they are updating the graphics in the future i wonder if the engine will be changed too?

I hope so! Source/Havok is so freaking old and pretty much outlived its' usefulness now.

Also, why the bot issue is severe is because Source/Havok has bots in their coding by design, So if the API(s) is easily manipulated, bots can happen. I know this as I work with Source Engine/Havok's APIs. If anyone is wondering why it is rampant.

Hmm i wouldn't say there are a "rampant" amount of bots in FFXIV I haven't seen any in a long time personally at least on Brynhildr.
If you want to see rampant amounts of bots Elder Scrolls Online used to have literally packs of them all following each other around killing anything that spawns.
What data centre are you seeing a lot of bots?

Sadly, Team Fortress 2 has a bot issue in casual as well. Built on Source/Havok also.

I also think that SqEx should move FFXIV to a LockStep-Sync based system. Factorio is that way and that means that the client/server must be exactly the same data and packet-wise. That means any parsing will be considered a packet mismatch and will refuse the connection and will also stop the bots from operating (at least that is the idea) as they will also be a packet mismatch.

Would that not affect mods though?
A lot of people use mods...
