Free Recruitment Code - Any Server + FAQ inside (new code)
Here is the code : QUH6CAB3 - Feel free to use it to play on any server you wish. They are not region or server specific.

Here are a few other things you should know BEFORE you make your FF14 account:

- Make sure you use the friend code before activating your subscription OR IT WILL NOT WORK. When you sign up for a new FF14 account, you will go through and fill out all the fields and put your referral code in there and then add your game key, etc. If activate your game and subscription first, you can't use a referral code

- Also, Do not sign up for the standard monthly renewal fee. This is $15 USD. SE also offers a cheap monthly sub fee at $12 (12.99 actually), but only allows 1 character per server. This is ALL YOU NEED. 1 character can do everything. If you want to change your race or gender or look, there are many things in game that can allow you to do this for free (from leveling up, you will get 2 fantasias I believe, which allow you to change everything, ie: race/sex/etc, as well as a couple of free make over coupons that allow you to change your face / hair / skin / etc. You can also purchase fantasias in the store for 10 bucks.

- Retainers are bank space basically. You get 2 for free and each one after that costs 2 bucks pe r month. This is why I say buy the 12 dollar sub, then you can buy 2 retainers if you wish, double your storage space and end up paying the normal monthly fee, but with more storage space =)

- Getting 1 character to 50 unlocks a ton of stuff. Heavensward expansion content, including the 3 additional classes. It also gives you a exp bonus while leveling, and a bunch of other stuff I won't list, but is easily googable. Getting a character to 60 also conveys bonuses as well (such as xp, etc).

- I would suggest, but up to you, leveling base classes you are interested in to 30. This will allow you unlock very helpful cross-class skills (though a few classes have cross class skills that unlock at 34 such as lancer and conjurer and monk at 42 for mantra, but the vast majority of stuff unlocks before lv30. Once you get to 30, you can go to quarrymill and enter Palace of the Dead (there is a short quest to unlock the content first). I think you can actually enter much sooner, but if you go in once you have the job you are interested in unlocked, then you can level in Palace of the Dead super fast to 60 and check out all the skills and abilities for said job, see if you like it and if not, try something else. Going 1-30 is VERY easy, going 30-50 is a little slow and 50-60 is ugh ... but Palace of the Dead is SUPER useful for leveling. Especially at 50+

- Also, the steam version and the square enix versions don't play nice together. That means, for example, if you buy the base game through steam on sale, and then buy the heavensward expansion from square enix or vice versa, they won't work together. Need to pick one or the other.

- I would also highly suggest taking the time to set up your UI in game once you start, you can move / scale / resize / adjust / etc just about everything and for a lot of classes, especially tanks and healers, this is really nesc. IMO.

- If you are looking for very populated servers, I know my server Balmung is extremely populated (also seems to be a lot of RPers there if you are into that), otherwise I would hit up reddit and ask there for some of the more populated servers so you can make sure you get into a good server (though to be honest, the game is crazy popular, heck my server makes me wait a few minutes almost everytime I log in because there are so many people online lol. Never have to wait more than 2-3 minutes though really.

- The game does have excellent controller support - though I totally suggest using a keyboard + mouse.

- My installed game size is 23 gigs on my SSD for FF14 for those curious

- Lastly I will share some links that everyone that plays should own:

http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/
The lodestone is a 1 stop shop for all things FF14 pretty much.

http://sqex.to/Msp?utm_source=lodestone&utm_medium=pc_banner&utm_campaign=na_mogstation
mogstation is account management, cash shop, etc

http://ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com/
for the fashionistas like myself =)

http://www.arrstatus.com/
server status

http://xivdb.com/
everything else =)

Hope this helps. It's really a terrific game. Enjoy

Cheers.

P.s. if you use the code, please say so in the thread and I will post another (but I can only add one every 3hrs.) Thanks!
