FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

Is this game dead?
Trying to get into a lvl 93 trial, and we have been waiting for hours with my friend (tank, healer)

and queue never popped....(yes I know there are the npcs, but I came here to play with other people...isn't this an mmo?) And this on the weekends too...

It all depends on your datacenter to start. If youre on Materia or Dynamis, ha, good luck. Those 2 are dead as can be and anything outside of ARR/HW, simply won't pop. Youre gonna have to DC hop over to some DC more populated.

My datacenter, Primal, apparently has an aversion to anything over level 60. So, while the queue times are longer, they do pop. Though it does depend on the time.. Pretty much anything from 2am-9am US time onwards, yea, its 30-60 mins if youre lucky. And primal is pretty populated.

Yea, its an MMO in name only. Its more of a single player game with other people and multiplayer components (sometimes).

Also, you need to remember that the player counts are down in the gutter at the moment, arguably the lowest they have been in.. what.. 8 years or so? If youre in NA, everyones on aether for everything. I couldn't tell you what life is like in EU/JP servers, but if its worse than NA, and NA is the biggest population because we pulled EU players to NA over the years for various reasons, yea.. its all gonna depend on DC and time youre playing. Now however, should be prime time, unless of course, youre queuing on Dynamis or Materia. In which case, you either DC hop or full on world transfer.

That's pretty sad...waiting anywhere between 30m to a whole hour for just one dungeon in a "populated" DC...I was afraid this might be the case...

Kinda depends on what DC youre on. But alas, yea. With the massive drop off of players since Dawntrail, especially in NA, everyones on Aether. So "populated" DCs aren't nearly as populated as they were this time 2-5 years ago.

Basically, unless all you do is AFK in Limsa, RP through various means, Work at a venue, or are a nightclub? Pfft, everyones in one place and everywhere else is pretty much dead. Kinda the reason im trying out WOW and attempting to give GW2 another chance, because both of those are "actually" mmos.
I wonder if there is something up with the servers. I have been unable to login with my character for over 2 hours.

The queue system is definitely broken or people found a new way to game it. I get instant queues for mentor roulette with guildheists/CT but if I queue Orbonne Monastery it'll last for 1-3 hours. :lunar2019piginablanket:
Patch 7.5 comes soon.
I'm sure the "OMG CONTENT" people will flock black with a vengeance.

Aside from that, Tank and Healer jobs often have the fastest queues.

Yeah, that's what we thought too, and here we are.

Well most of the time they are the fastest but it also depends on if you're doing a specific duty vs duty roulette. A specific duty can always take more time and sometimes it may be better to just make a party finder opening for it.

OR just solo/duo it.
Despite what people will tell you, Current expansion content is dead aside from Arcadion.

Even the new deep dungeon is like 1 hour queue on most populated servers
You could run potd at any time of the day for 3 expacs straight. Eureka still has ppl and ba has community runs every week even though it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because powercreep. I think a lot of vets just don't like the game that much anymore.
Depends where you are at region wise. Data center travel has more or less destroyed duty finder on other data centers as everyone migrates to the "big" data centers which is Aether for NA. Dunno what it is for EU/SEA.
Yeah, entirely depends where. Chaos in Europe is dead. Light is better off, but it's still not great compared to American datacentres or Japanese.
I won’t say so but considering we are at the end of the 7.4x patches then a large amount of people are on breaks as most have completed the current content and have less of a reason to play.

Try also to data travel to the most populated DC in your region. Aether in NA, Light in EU etc
I personally play 3 all roles but didn’t have an issue with queues on Light even at night hours.

Break or pretty much peoples straight up left.
Ive never waited more than 10 minutes for any duty ever
