there's also a benchmark you could probably run that should explore what you need to know, but I'm not sure if you have to be subbed for it or not

If it doesn't work out, have fun in Diablo! I've been hearing good things lately and see a bunch of people playing again, so something's going on.
The "loot reborn" update fixed the majority of my issues with the gearing. "Tempering" is much more powerful and flexible than the old item upgrades, salvaging a Legendary now adds the best roll to your Codex permanently, things like Lilith Statues are shared across all realms, etc.
I respeced my Storm Druid into a Werewolf Companion build, and I'm doing Torment at Lv60 without any issues. The power creep was what this game desperately needed.
Ooooo, sounds like it might be time to fire it up again, thanks!
It is vastly improved over launch. There seems to be some trepidation over the changes for season 5, but we'll see.
Wasn't the 3050 Ti only released as laptop gpu?
In fact, I do have a gaming laptop (custom-built PC's were massively overpriced during the pandemic, and I was travelling a lot at the time), which is why I intend to buy a full gaming PC once the 50-series cards come out. I'll still use the gaming laptop for portability.
You can connect a 4k monitor to a 1080p gaming laptop without issue, and it mostly works as intended. There's some flickering when I power it on, and not all games default to the correct display.
The benchmark was very helpful. With everything turned up to absolute maximum at 4k, I was getting an average of 30 FPS, with drops as low as 15 in big fight scenes. I'd have to turn down the resolution to get comfortable framerates, so I'm going to wait until I get a 50-series PC (or, if we're really lucky, for Squenix to start properly supporting GFN) to play it in its full glory, because it DID look absolutely gorgeous.
For now, I'll stick with MMO's that have GFN support like Diablo 4, Black Desert, and Guild Wars 2, that will look great on a 4k monitor. No, I don't feel silly for buying a 4k monitor without the GPU to fully utilize it; my friend bought a 3080 4k PC and only plays Old School Runescape.
