FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

Blacklist / Privacy Features Update
Info has gone out about exactly how they're fixing this system, and it's fantastic. It'll be coming with 7.0.

* Account-wide (so if you blacklist somebody, they can't just make a new toon)
* Character models of blacklisted folks disappear
* Mute list added as a separate thing
* Term-filter added (bye bye nightclub spam)
* Estate expulsion added
* Lodestone privacy features added

There's a lot more, so if you're interested I'd encourage looking it up yourself. These are just a couple of highlights.

It's about time. This is one area that really desperately needed fixes, and I'm happy to see it finally happening. There are a few things that should have existed since day one, but I guess better late than never.

Good changes. But the best way to stalk someone is through lodestone. If I save someone’s lodestone page, I know who they are no matter if they change name or move servers. Hope SE can fix that as well eventually.

You will be able to private your lodestone page.

Yeah Lodestone privacy is a huge portion of the update. It's pretty granular, too.

Digital racism!
should I add a /s? I better just in case.
/s

So how is this digital racism?
That is their land. That is their venue.
They can say who is allowed to go on in and whom cannot. The venue's in FF14 do not coincide with RL Laws in this respect. There are no laws/policies in FF14 that say one must accept all races in a 'privately owned, public venue.' So, by a legal standpoint, there is no basis for such an argument. Nor should there be any complaints. Goddess, I have been to enough nightclubs IRL to know the 'atmosphere' of such places and whom they cater to.
Lala's are definitely not a clientele that most nightclubs want, because there is too much of a psychological stigma in their being, intent, and purpose.

Oh and just so you know, I have a Lala as one of my few characters, so I know the stigma well.
Why is this karen trying to insult me.
GD this game is filled with weirdo.
Is there a limit to how many Lalafells annoying players we can block ingame now? Finally, I can have complete fantasy immersion. :cuphead:
its aswell said that the account wide thing only applies to accounts/characters which got created in 7.0 and afterwards.

means, the account wide thing wont take effect on ALL accounts as of now. except they create a new character in 7.0.
No, it’s only applicable to characters added to the list in 7.0, not created. So your old blacklist won’t work this way, just the new people you add to it.

How would this work in pvp?

If you do content with black listed characters like Dungeons, you will see them but their name will no longer appear. Instead of their name you only have the word "Unknown" as a replacement. Outside of the content, they are no longer visible.
