FF14 Server maintenance?
Did the servers just go down? I can't connect to the data center?

Yes the servers are down for maintenance and an upgrade, won't be back up until the 4th.

and yes, that maintenance was annouinced and will last 24 hours.
reading notices which are shown in the launcher helps sometimes.

yea, until the pages finally update and only show 2~5 online which are usually devs testing stuff etc. hence why the login server is still online.

yes, sorry rock but this was announced like 2 weeks ago. that FF14 will go down from the 3rd to the 4th april and the maintenance will last for 24 hours for the server upgrade and patch 6.38

this isnt any other MMO where updates getting rushed and then a million issues pop up afterwards. they actually try to take their time to minimize disasters like it happens in certain other MMO´s here and there ... tho i wish they would finally update the launcher xD.

They need to change something on the NA server, but why the EU servers are also down? Also we are losing 2,30 €, for what? Any compensation?

shows again how you read, its not only the server upgrade, its aswell patch 6.38.

It would be very unfair if only NA players couldn't play.

Also how much do you pay for your sub that you lose 2,30€ if you cannot play for one day??
One day costs 46ct on standard sub

I had to pay for a subscription to WoW, and I'll tell you what:
Too fast! i was playing as a tank and i just had to press press press. I'm tired after 5 dungeons :) I don't know if it's ok if a tank in blue clothes is top dps, but it's exhausting.
Login at the high character - still nothing to do in end of game.
That's the end of my wow game...
Three hours was enough for me
But Final Fantasy servers are still offline ... : |

i dont know what for you a nap is but, if i sleep for 10 hours would i call that "going to bed" rather then a nap xD

Where did you get €2.30 from? 24 hours of sub-time is €0.35.

In order to safeguard against any potential errors while transferring data to the upgraded hardware, all Worlds across all physical and logical data centers will undergo maintenance during the period

If you're gonna perform maintenance on one server, you kinda don't want people to get on the other servers.
For example because those servers might still somehow be able to contact that server and might cause errors, and/or because you don't want anything else to generally start having errors while you are performing maintenance on that other server.
Basically this way they can reduce the chance something goes wrong.
