A lot of the UI is designed with controller in mind and at the forefront. Personally can't imagine playing Keyboard and mouse with how bad the UI is... Especially retainers goodlord.

KB and programmable mouse for me. Having 10,000 different keys you can bind is always an advantage in an MMO.

With my Corsair MMO mouse, I've got it good with K/B. Everything is super easy to access. One day I wanna try controller, for the days I just wanna lay down. lol

i have tried using a controller and i really dont understand how people can do a proper rotation with those things so i switched back to keyboard and mouse

It's probably just personal preference. I've seen top tier players on both keyboard and controller. I prefer keyboard but both methods are viable.

Wat. Combat and menus are both significantly easier and faster with mouse and keyboard.

Just in case somebody might not know this, there are two separate UIs for the game, one for controller, one for keyboard and mouse.

Controller has a separate, simplified UI. It works very well for controllers. I've only used controllers in the game. Traditionally, I've played all my MMOs with Mouse/Keyboard, but FFXIV controller support is far superior in my opinion.

In any case, doesn't matter what 'we' think. It's how you choose to interact with the game. Experiment using both and stick with the one that feels 'right' for you.

There are, and they're both good (well, in terms of getting things done and customization). The controller one works really well to navigate the menus and such. Personally, I cannot raid heal on a controller, but can do everything else, including like...placing housing objects. Mostly I still play with mouse and keyboard tho.
