Somehow, somewhen, someone decided that one can indeed 'get' "Final Fantasy XI press conference tomorrow, free-to-play finally happening?" from http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/vanaproj/vanaproj.html
Or from the chocobo's beak; http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/46414
Well, it happens every year.

The stream went up. Both the PS2 and 360 version of FF11 are going down a year from now. And apparently the last chapter(s) of FF11 are going to be added to the game as well.
They're dropping ps2/xbox support for it too. About time really.
Well if the ends coming I'd better get working on finishing my Mythic for my Blue Mage & stuff.
Four million in FFXI (11)? Last I heard the population was half a million.
It's mainly the people who have been saying the game is dying over the years who are laughing that its reached the end. The trolls came out of the woodwork on ffxiah threads.
The way I read it was the content they're adding is the finale to the game . But I think the game still has a few years to go before SE pulls the plug. I'm going to keep playing until its finished anyway Still got at least a few years worth of content to do.
You never know with SE logic anyway , theyre going to release a smartphone game set in XI's world soon too called Final Fantasy Grandmasters.
im actually thinking of going back and start a fresh char to just to do they story
