Yep. Open up Character Configuration, which is K by default, and go to the Display Name Settings button on the left side of the menu. That's where you can change the name display for everything.

Try changing other settings there too.

"Long Name" -> "L. Name" or just "L.N."

or remove all the <Overly long and distracting epic title here>

Don't forget to enable/disable "click-through". You can click on someone to select them... or force yourself to use the Tab/F and/or controller/hotbar
