FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

What happened?
Came back to this game to give it a go via launcher, but oh my flipping goodness, 4 hours in and it's nothing but frustrated and toxic B-holes with MASSIVE egos. What happened to the freaking awesome community we had before COVID?

Dang bro it only took 4 hours? Where were you?
Tervuren 9 de jan. às 12:40
The game prioritized getting people to end game over forming and shaping players social and game skills.

Little things like no longer waiting in a group for protect to cast while saying hi adds up.

A fair amount of players are now "alts", slam leveling on boosted servers.
Often bored and have a second device that is splitting their attention.

The gold saucer needs to go back to not prioritizing instanced gates.

And ultimately, they need to stop listening to the english speakers.
That includes me.

Let me guess. You queued a dungeon as tank, refused to tank because someone dared to move in front of you, got kicked and everyone else is the problem?

Any way you slice it, for or against the OP, it all sounds like a bunch of 'not fun' lol

You explained the sad state of the ff14 community pretty well with your post ...

I am an ff14 veteran, I played many hours on PC and countless more on PS3/4/5. I experienced the old ff14 and now the "a realm reborn" remake. And I can confirm, the community changed very badly over the last years. I remember the days where peoples waited patiently in dungeon and raids, so everyone can keep up. No speedrunners or someone who kits the whole dungeon a head. Everyone respected your pace and your job. The Tank was always the leader in the group, even if he was new, we kept him the lead. The immersion of the group was relaxed because no one pushed and was toxic. Now Tanks gets trashed and spit on ... for what? because they don't pull fast enough? We actually enjoyed our roles back then ... Now it feels like a cold grind because these peoples treat it like that, they don't enjoy the same game we had back then. They rush their content, they don't care about their teammates anymore ... ff14 was my whole world in my childhood till adult. And the way how it is now ... not the game but the community makes me freaking sad.

Rose-tinted glasses. The community in this game has always been extremely, positively toxic. If you're noticing it more now, it's simply because your glasses have fallen off.

Yeaaaaaa nah, I couldn't give a rats ass bout that sort of drama. This was actual random people sh%tting on me in low level exp zone for fun, and seeing others get bullied.

Probably have..

Funny that another returning person sees this too... I played Final Fantasy XIV in middle 2022, it was a blast and made fun especially the ultimates, but now it is just toxic as hell. Had many encounters as beginner where people get extremely mad if you don't do something right at the first time (I also have the beginner logo). I will continue playing the expansion solo as much as i can and then stop the game

Whoa whoa I thought this game had the best and coziest community? Ain't no way the game is full of coomers, creeps, etc. but you can't say a swear word or you might get banned...
Lixire 12 de jan. às 12:36
idk, I play every day for hours yet had like almost 0 issues with the community in-game.

There is a saying that goes something like this: you could smell roses for 364 days but you will remember the day you smell a turd.

Luckyly I can still count with the fingers of one hand the times I had a toxic interaction. Worth mentioning that for the moment I stay away of hard content.
