Notice how Heavensward had 3 big names attached to it too.
People blame Wuk Lamat and English VA. But it's kind of sort of probably just writing.
It's definitely the writing. I don't think Wuk's VA is amazing but she definitely wasn't bad enough to make a notable impact on the overall quality of the expansion.
It isn't a coincidence that quality fell off a cliff as soon as Ishikawa and Koji Fox stepped aside. Yoshi-P says they're in "supervisory roles" now but it's blatantly obvious that he just doesn't want to tell the community that the people who have been carrying the game are gone.
That said, what the ♥♥♥♥ happened? One of those writers did Shadow of Werlyt, where's villains as delightfully hateable as the balloon head man? And they did Bozja too, and Bozja's writing was the best part of the field operation.
I hope some more useful criticism gets through to CBU3 instead of "ahhh wuk lamat ahhhh!"
Because if she was black holed out of the plot entirely, dawntrail would still be a dumpster fire.
agree tbh. even a character i don't like is tolerable in smaller doses and that is where the writing went wrong.
