You going to DF it? Part of a static? If in a static, what do they need?
Viper is going to do the most damage of that group, but they are entirely a selfish DPS so unless you are like a really good Viper, statics aren't as inclined to want you because you don't bring much to the table since you have no utility.
Bard and Dancer bring more utility, but lower damage because of it and the lovingly termed 'ranged tax.' Even so, most groups usually one want one of those, too, but they tend to be a bit more in demand than the (selfish) melee spot(s).
>inb4 someone angrily posts fflogs
viper can only share the jewelry
i personally like dancer
even tho i like bard and its my most played DPS job i have to warn you that bard has a lot of procs to watchout for and doing raids having to pay attention for all your songs + dots + procs + mechs can be really REALLY annoying, that being said...EVERYONE LOVES BARD IN THEIR GROUP
viper is dmg, just that, from the melee dpsers this is the most casual friendly one right now
dancer is like bard but less, bard apply all the necessary buffs + has more dmg BUT dancer has so much less to pay attention for...dancer will also buff the raid so everyone loves the job and overall is less troublesome to play it
If I don't have a static?
If you don't have a static you'll be at the mercy of PF, which is all kinds of mixed bag. Haven't played in years but supposedly all raiding is done on Aether now, so you'll need to DC travel everytime you wanna raid, which means you can't check your retainers or sell anything on the MB while you're away from home.
And if you're relying solely on PF, you'll probably wanna play an unpopular role since the popular ones will all be taken unless you make the PF yourself.
I see... I'm from Asia so I'm playing on Japanese DC.
I was thinking of a role where I can easily 'slot' into pub. Unless I somehow find a static (provided I complete the MSQ).
Ah, JP does things quite a bit different from NA so I couldn't tell you.
No worries. :)
Wasn't it talked about how it was gonna be a complex job, finally something to give people a melee they have to think about what to do and how to play it? Like, before DT came out?
