This game seriously needs a Anti-Cheat

Oh my god how this game has changed throughout the years, especially with the use of Dalamud.

Gone are the days where relics and rare drops matter. Want your friend to see you with that shiny Eureka armor or cool weapon? Why grind for it for 50 hours when you can just slap it on with a plugin.

If you play on Balmung like me, it matters even less because if you don't look like a IMVU character and is ready to get down and dirty then most of the community on your world will not even talk to you. They might approach you, but if you do not have a "Mare" to give them or if you don't look IMVU or Second Life enough, they immediately cut ties with you.

Now I know Balmung has a reputation, but come on. It's the only world that doesn't feel dead yet the only people you meet seems to be refugee's from IMVU and Second Life and people who couldn't afford VRchat.


But, this isn't why I say the game is in need of a anti-cheat. Now, not only is it visually disrupting the game. But you now have FULLY AUTOMATED ROTATIONS, CONTENT CLEARS AND AOE AVOIDANCE.

You don't need a bot software, you don't need to pay money or anything. You can literally snatch Dalamud for free and then set up so you automatically dodge mechanics, automatically perform the combat rotation for you, automate the Trust system and automatically run dungeons with them to level and gear without even being at your computer. All for free and with no consequence what so ever.
The plugins even support AI SUPPORTED AOE AVOIDANCE, MEANING YOU HAVE A LITERAL AI IN REAL TIME WORKING ON AVOIDING MECHANICS FOR YOU?!?!?!?

I also tried ocean fishing the other day, on BALMUNG of all things. A place not known for content focused people, yet the boat was filled with people even people in my friendslist who did not speak or interact with anyone. They ran straight to 1 spot and started fishing. I whispered to my friend but no response. And everytime I stood inside any of them while they were fishing, they would automatically stop fishing and move a few meters then fish again. Like some automatic "dont stand near players" reaction. And how do I know they were bots? Right after the ocean fishing ends they would all B line it to the limsa inn and sit there as seen through the player search for 2 hours isolated from other players before then magically all flowing out of the inn and back to the docks 2 minutes before the new boat would start.

This is absolutely stupid.

This game used to be great, but now all I find are botters, people looking like they are from second life or IMVU and almost no content online showing the actual game itself without tons of mods on screen except for streamers as those are the only people who seems to get punished for using these stuff.

I even noticed while leveling that mobs were getting killed out of nowhere, and it turns out there were ♥♥♥♥♥ lalafells underneath the map farming fates in peace while being unable to take damage??????

wtf is the point of playing this game at this point, its more a plugin heaven than a actual game at this point.

I tried WoW a little bit and got 2 characters to 70 I believe, and although there are tons of QoL and "mandatory" plugins, at least it felt as though the people I saw were still players and present in the gameplay and not some semi afk automated ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I think its wild the amount of screenshots you'll find on Steam with these on display, they're becoming more common as time goes. I know its frustrating but I think you're better off not caring about it as much as you can manage to, some of these you mentioned aren't even a new thing, we're 5 expansions in and devs keep trying to ignore the elephant in the room, I think its very unlikely they'll ever add anything of the sort, though I also wish they would. I know its harder to ignore depending on the kind of content you do, but it sort of is what it is. We can't really do anything except stop playing or complaining to devs.

The game is kept alive by the elaborate character customization and transmog options, ‘house parties’ and ‘community events’ (sex/kink RP).

The actual gameplay part has become completely irrelevant, at least as far as western servers are concerned.

At least in say WoW cuz thats my only comparison, if someone has something cool they most likely put in the work themselves.

Last I heard, even using AI or like python scripts to automatically do your rotation for you without injecting anything into the game itself would basically gurantee your account ban within 1-3 months. While in FF14 your literally free to automate everything for forever and nothing will ever happen unless you actively do something that makes people go out of their way to find some semi hidden report feature and report you

I guess you like that every aspect of a multiplayer game can easily be done automated by plugins instead of actually having people play the game, especially love when people in your friendslist is walking around the map doing content while ignoring you as their literally not even at their computer.

There are a literal line of people who go to ocean fishing exactly 2 minutes before it pops. Then afterwards B lines it to the Limsa Inn, then sits there afk for 2 hours and pops back out to ocean fishing exactly 2 minutes prior to it popping. While being AFK on discord and literally being at work in real life yet is magically fishing ingame and moving around while still showing as AFK both on discord, steam and even sending snaps on snapchat of being at work which is not a desk job mind you.

All I can assume is that you guys are so scared of losing your IMVU mods to want Square to do anything against the botting plugins of Dalamud.

Because 90% of the plugins are harmless and invasive anti-cheats are not going to stop botting. If you see a bot, report them and move on. Square literally makes monthly blog posts about RMT's/Bots that they ban.

To be a ugly ass character you need Glamourer, Penumbra, Mare, Heels, Customize. That list is already shorter than the ones I listed to just automate /some/ content in the game.

I have never seen a multiplayer/MMO community that is this defensive on bots.

Why would you wanna grind a game that can easily grind itself?

And those reports barely do anything, I have reported so many of those people clipped under the aetheryte yet when I check back on them they are still active 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 2 months and 4 months after the report was made.

Those plugins I mentioned earlier even has PvP support where it emergency heals for you, sets up guard for you, instantly interrupts someones LB cast. How can you guys say these plugins are harmless when it even gives you a literal edge in PvP.

I have even seen clips of people clipping under the arena in ultimate and killing the ultimate while the boss literally CANNOT DAMAGE YOU and somehow you guys are just completely OK with this and looks at me as the bad guy while all this ♥♥♥♥ is going on in your game.

have you actually tried to google them? Let me tell you their plugin repo descriptions to make it easier for you.

Automatic Leveling
AutoDuty has a leveling feature that will continuously run you through the "correct" dungeon to level through. The dungeon is typically determined by path quality, support for boss fights, and obviously the level of the dungeon.

you do realise the bots get banned right? the bots all do the same thing they are really easy to ban for square and they also wait to ban them cause then they can follow the link to who they trade with and ban others, ive seen all those bots to all turning up and turning in the quest from seemingly no where and all levelling at practically the same time while all stood under the ground, i am sure square has admins stood in those obvious spots to clock them. you can even see on the banned accounts segment where they literally tell you how many got banned

No, they don't. I know people who have been using these plugins blatantly for years with 0 repercussions. The only bots that get banned are the RMT ones.

SAME, even the friend I mentioned has told me after I "caught" them that they been doing this since 2019 and has never had any issues
