do you really think they're about to deploy a full-blown anti-cheat when their entire player retention strategy revolves around keeping lonely glam addicts and weird stalkers subscribed? half the PF clears are being propped up by people running automated rotations and boss mod timelines. the other half are so checked out they wouldn’t notice if someone was literally speedhacking through mechanics.
how will the cheaters respond? they won’t. because SE isn’t doing anything. they never were. they’ll keep playing, keep clearing, and keep paying, and SE will keep pretending not to notice as long as the credit cards don’t stop swiping.
this game isn't getting an anti-cheat. it's getting another cash shop mount and a borderline-useless UI feature no one asked for.
SE is implementing Denovu, an internally developed anti-cheat and a Kernelmodule for Windows to get rid of these cheaters and Mac/Linux users (according to EA all Linux users are cheaters anyway, so they don't need them)
and, of course, to get rid of these Windows user who are keeping the OS up to date.
To prevent any other tempering SE will use the same secure update mechanism like Cisco does.
SE even invest some money in their security by buying:
- Cisco Firewall (protect against Chinese backdoors)
- Huawei Firewall (Protect against US backdoors)
- Checkpoint FW (against Russian backdoors)
- Fortinet FW (against Israeli backdoors)
- Palo Alto (cuz all the cool kids use them)
- pfSense (for good measurement)
Btw: The game datas have to be downloaded every time you start the game, only the Launcher remains. And please have at least 100GB RAM free.

Devs turning a blind eye as long as the house party dance club’s sub money comes in.
Also JP master race all playing on console so no problems there.
Fortinet out of all things? literal joke of a firewall as of lately when it comes to security that I wonder how they are still around...
Cuz less ppl playing == less alleged cheaters
I love EA logic, works always.
Or now that XIVLauncher is up again, more people will use that launcher and expose themselves to Dalamud and the modding scene as a whole.
If anything numbers will go up. XD
How is it broken? I even turned XIVLauncher off and it's working as usual.
