It feels like people just go with the default eyes option, face option, mouth option, tail option, etc.. People need to mess around with the settings and play around with skin color.
Sure there are other games that have more in-depth character creation, but saying that everyone looks the same in this game is a red flag as far as I'm concerned.
I mean on any game i love to deeply customize my dude, on ffxiv yes there are a few options, but there are only so many combinations you know.
I dont think its an "imagination" problem, like you said there could be MORE depth. So if there is little depth besides changing the slight angle of your eyes / nose / jaw then.. how is it a red flag lmao?
There is just little options in the grand scheme of the game and amount of players around. A lot of the options you do have dont look good or look very similar, like the hairstyles most look very similar in style even the "new" ones and then you have limited color options.
Just saying, why does the game still have 2014 character creation.. Devs could easily upgrade the system or work with modders to improve it if they lack the imagination or drive, but typical they are close minded.
I just wouldn't expect it, as it is Square Enix after all.
