First thing I'm doing is grabbing astrologian, grabbing an FC airship (unless there's a catch where it takes xx amount of time to build, in which case I'll start it building) then deciding whether to rush ast or sch to lvl 60.
You do need to complete one new story quest to get access to Ishgard and then speak to the Job NPC there to get the new Jobs.
You could already do that with the benchmark...not that I've tried or anything...
I tried the boobs slider, disappointing. Not enough slider options.
Erm...
The new job NPCs are in Ishgard, Ishgard is a new area, ergo, you need to do main story quests before you can access Ishgard and the new jobs.
The patch notes also say as a requirement for the new jobs: "Players must first complete the main scenario quest "Before the Dawn""
The NPCs for the job quests are as you say in ishgard, but I believe the "new areas" mentioned refers to the other new zones.
As a note the first main scenario quest is listed as being called "coming to ishgard", the name would imply that you're already in ishgard when you receive it (otherwise it would be "going to ishgard").
Or the devs just didn't think things through when they listed the job requirements as "before the dawn".
Personally I think it'll be simmilar to 2.0's intro, where you go through a conversation/cutscene which isn't an actual quest but still serves as an intro to the story.
Which, by your logic, implies Ishgard isn't a new area.
If you tell someone "I'm coming to your house" that does not imply that you're already at their house.
i play with normal client not steam client for those wondering since i dont have the game on steam =p
