Viper is Summoner but for melee, although it's even more braindead to play than Summoner. Dragoon is okay, but recently has become more boring to play. Dragoon is probably still the most fun of those three though.
Is Viper like a fury warrior from wow? Or something different?
RPR is still great, especially for the current ult.
VPR fell off a bit for this ult compares to others purely because of the encounter design. They were great during savage.
NIN and MNK are similar to RPR performance wise for this ult.
SAM is a bit of a meme, but you can make it work.
(All opinions were made with ult in mind, all are great everywhere else)
unless your doing hardest current content and trying clear savage, ultimates, or what?
learn the dance body, there are tutorials on youtube?
Lies - Play Pictomancer or go tank/heal.
Of course, none of this really matters, since you can play any job as long as you play it well.
Hey bro, as a fury enjoyer I'll chime in:
Not rly. 14 kind of does its own thing where classes go down GCD combo railroads with little breaks by way of oGCDs and cooldown windows. All of the jobs are that idea done in different ways to greater or lesser extent
In VPR's case, it builds towards its cd window "quickly" (by 14 standards; for fury warrior standards it'd be glacially slow) and when in that window it feels a lot like combat rogue's adrenaline rush with a finishing attack.
GCD to GCD, VPR is the railroad idea except sometimes the railroad tracks will turn and you'll need to hit button 4 instead of button 2 in one combo, and button 1 instead of button 3 the next.
The only thing it has in common with fury warrior is two weapons imo. The thing that feels closest to a WoW warrior spec is Arms' colossal hits and WAR's colossal hits.
Lies - you can't play Blue Mage.
so, you would need a few more braincells then for summoner unless you can deal with the dps loss. plus, you probably say that because you dont like the XIV combo on the viper class.
try it without it (since you can turn it off) and you have the same experience like with any other melee class.
