i noticed a lot of people call catgirls basic? like i was a catgirl a few months ago & some female roe is like "ofcourse you go into limsa and the first thing you see is a plain catgirl" i was like ?? and just yesterday some group was talking about how they know the dungeon is gonna be ♥♥♥♥ when the tank is a catgirl. are these like the "i'm not like other girls" of ffxiv? all i hear is i'm not like other girls i play roe and have clicked on the most random choices to look as different as possible so i can be a virtual pick me

Cat girls are massively over represented among active characters, of course they're going to be called basic.

Tbf catgirls are pretty basic, the amount of 2B leg wearing catgirls is staggering.

Their skills and/or performance is unrelated however, iirc their skills (based off some data someone collected on world firsts) they are second only to lalas.

But seriously though quit worrying about the opinion of others in a video game.

its cuz they are the stereotypical coomer race generic and u see way more of them than any other race

tbh whatever i play i spend alot of time and effort doing as much unique glamours as i can, so it feels like people already have stereotypes as soon as they see cat ears.
but yea i dont really care i was just curious why its most hated

+ all the people saying its bc its the most used race, lets be honest its not that, its the way they look that ppl playing other races have a problem with. if most active players were something like roe or hrothgars i just know nobodys gonna be calling them basic. because all sizes and looks matter and slaaay or wtvr as long as its not a skinny female with soft features.
but yea i think some straight men that play catgirls make them look very generic with 2b tights and some bikini top jumping around trying to interact with everything, but ive seen that happen with every other race as well

If you look around in game it is like 90% catgirls, so yea, you won't win any points for originality by making one.

There's a reason they're popular, though. Cat girls are hot and it's the best looking female race in the game. I'm not exactly angry about the fact that I'm hit by a wave of sexy cat girls every time I log on.

ha! you should hear the jokes when the tank is a lalafell. i dont think they mean all that stuff serious and are just fun talking OR they know somehow that they can trigger YOU with it xD.
