monk is hard? really?!

so i heard from my friends that monk is considered the hardest or one of the hardest classes to play atm, it confuses the living ♥♥♥♥ out of me, im playing the ♥♥♥♥ without any problem and i love the way you can mish and mash between the combos based on what you need and nothing in teh 6 button combo is really ever locked, just feels so different than the other classes but it dosnt feel hard?

Monk used to be the job for masochists everywhere but they changed it so it feels a lot better/easier to play.

None of the jobs are difficult to play, but old monk had a relatively "complicated" opener. New monk is very simple.

makes sense then, because i really only started playing after endwalker so i havent tried the old monk, al i know is i like playing this version and all the oppertunities it has to do whatever combos is needed with perfect form and so on, plus i like mobile as ♥♥♥♥ classes and play styles in games haha

New monk is ok. It's a little stale without all the oGCD's it used to have. I think the main difficulty people had with it was the fact that literally all of their attacks had a positional on them but its been reduced down to 2 attacks now which is in line with all the other melee dps.

I honestly wont be surprised if the next expansion phases positionals out of the game completely and honestly I'd be cool with that. DRG is super annoying to try and play against certain savage fights *cough* Pandaemonium 3 Savage *cough*

As a warrior main I have little to say about this topic other than I spotted a nude lalafell and she said that she always plays monk nude.
Makes sense I guess?

Every class is easy... Until you get to content where knowing what you are doing actually matters. Do savage at minimum iLevel and then you can actually get a sense of whether it is "easy" or not. And then you should be comparing your dps on fflogs to other monks on the same fights to see if you are doing well or just doing well enough to pass.

NOW every class is easy. Well... except for blm. lol... Or Scholar... or Sage... but yeah, monk used to be one of the hardest things around until SE finally changes it. It's easier now.

Nah, definitely every class was easy and will always be easy. Playerbase just hasn't evolved from having potato brains as evident by some postings present.

Eh, I don't really agree. I can't stand BLM even though people will say it's easy. The stand in one place thing and trying to use the ley lines as much as possible is too much of a pain.

For Scholar and Sage, Shield Healers are just a pain for me in general. It's the only ones that are hard as they are when Pure Healers are much easier to deal with. Otherwise then yeah.

Fair, but every class is easy. They need to be. Theres this interesting video whose core message was classes aren't hard at a casual level. When you compete for top spots on fflogs is when you see that the skill ceilings and optimizations vary in difficulty. But just doing a brunt of the content casually, every class isn't hard. In fact, what makes shield healers hard is their tanks not utilizing their kit.

Sage was supposed to be fun as well but even after practice, it was easy to see I would not manage to get my way with it. Meanwhile, I play WHM and AST perfectly so that's that...

I am an absolutely horrid healer but I have no qualms keeping the tank alive during wallpulls. I also constantly dps too. So I'm not sure what you mean.

I am a main healer and I can't deal with shield healers. My tanks would die like they were made of paper. No need to state the obvious that I suck at shield healing, I already know...

But I played lot of different classes just fine, even harder ones. I never have this issues with pure healer classes. Shield healers, I tried many different skill bar configuration and nothing works. I literally can't deal with them and I tried again and again. There's no perfect flow...

Wish I could provide decent tanking to you that isn't war to maybe help you get the jist of it, if you even wanted that.
