Must not be that broken when it's on spot number 14 out of popularity for all jobs in the JP servers. Meanwhile Paladin, Reaper and Warrior are in the top three funnily enough.
Any job is broken at level 70 if you don't turn on minimum ilevel. It's due to old powercreep and higher synced ilevel. Try doing the Omega raids on minimum ilevel, Kefka will hit like a doubledecker truck compared to his synced counterpart.
they can insta-rez the healer

... So can the Summoner
But you can still do 70 content (including Ultimates) with the other dps jobs. It's not a hard requirement to fill an entire raid with summoners to pass dps checks, unless you and your group are really bad at the game or something.
There's unfortunately just a really weird percentage of people who'd rather drool over FFlogs than to realize any job is viable and capable but only if the person wielding it has the knowledge to.
BLM has the highest potential damage, but unless they NEVER get forced to move during a situation, they will also never reach said maximum potential. RDM may do slightly less damage than BLM according to the almighty logs but by having the availability to resurrect people would place them in a much higher regard in progging group aspects. People look at numbers and just get completely sidetracked by that aspect.
Also disregarding the fact that group compositions benefit from having a magic, melee and ranged DPS to receive the bonus associated with that on top of everything as well.
Some of us die more than once. NOT ME, of course. Just, you know. Some people.
Sure you can. UCoB and UWU are massively power crept because of the post-Sb stat changes. Gear has a load more stats on it than it did when the content released because you don't need to meld main stats any more, so the DPS checks in level 70 ultimate are a meme.
If you take a SMN, RDM and DNC you can skip massive portions of the fights and make them even easier though.
I really don't understand why some people are so weird about damage numbers.
