first run completly blind, no healer, not BiS gear, wall to wall pulling, gets hit by multiple boss mechanics, no deaths and finish run in 12 minutes

dungeons are such wasted trash content they should add another difficulty like they do with raids and trials

its because this game is so afraid to make something difficult and hurt the feelings of casual trash players

i got more than 1 team in tower of zot complaining about how hard that dung was. That just makes me realize the level of the players in this game.

Your complaint would hold a lot more water if if you weren't leveling it at what is intentionally the bare minimum to advance the story. One of the things that makes FFXIV great is that you can do whatever you want without feeling like you're missing out. You don't like dungeons? Great do them the minimum required number of times (once) and never go back. There's literally nothing making you spend your time on them except the one time it's needed for MSQ.

Go do extremes, savage raids, or even ultimates if you want hard content. Not everything needs to be hard, and not everything is. There's plenty of what you want in the game. You're complaining about low level players being coddled by saying YOU should be instead. Sorry, but people who share your feelings are in the minority in FFXIV and if you don't like it THAT much, well, I'm sure you know how to to unsub.

I'm not advocating hard content at all here, just something more engaging than baby's first game. I am advocating engaging content, fresh and new. We've had this same exact style past 7 years. Just the background changes. I am not sorry for asking something fresh.

Honestly, he's kind of right.

Dungeons are a joke for the most part with a few exceptions. Harder dungeons with better rewards would be a welcome change for people that want them.

And no, i'm not suggesting the game to become WoW, it doesn't need timers, affixes or any of that nonsense.

Dungeons in this game are still fun despite how easy they are but i feel there is definitely room for some difficulty, not necessarily savage tier difficulty but something that requires a little bit of focus and co-ordination from everyone in the party, which isn't tied to how geared you are.

Running from point A to point B, nuking down the trash then dealing with the 2 easy mechanics the boss has gets old quick, and dungeons like this are an overabundance in the levelling process. Expert dungeons are SLIGHTLY more difficult but are largely made irrelevant due to easily obtained gear like crafted or regular tomestones.

I mean there are already criterion dungeons announced for 6.2 so maybe they will fit what u need. If not then u should perhaps going to wow where people running + 20 mythic dungeons without heals.

Why does it always go back to "Just go play WoW" whenever someone suggests a change or more options?

We're not asking for WoW. If we wanted to play WoW we would not be here. We don't want timers or affixes, we just want something that requires using a few extra brain cells.

Criterion Dungeons seem very interesting though, hopefully they fill the very obvious gap in dungeon content.
WoW does honestly have better dungeon content and i HATE that game this is not me saying go back to WoW or anything but I hope criterion dungeons fix the issue with FF XIV dungeons being quite simple. Also this is still a rumor but apparently savage dungeons are planned eventually down the line but criterion takes the precedent right now, I hope they are fun I genuinely do. Also deep dungeons can get pretty brutal later one but to be hnest as much as I love this game its hard to credit the creators as well theyre procedural, ofc they can get brutal they arent curated experiences.

Wow really focussing only on raids and dungeons and missing out on other content aside from it. I for my part hated M+ so much that it was 1 of the reason i left the game. Sure FFXIV need harder dungeon content but i hope they not doing anything like M+ or something.

I hope that if we get a mythic similar system it respects your time, the worst part of that system is how you do like 20 keys just to get a random item at the end of the weekly reset, I feel like a mythic plus style system in ff xiv could work, it’d atleast be fun for people that love the dungeons but I feel like beyond a couple keys deep it should just be all glamour, deeper keys gets you more intricate pieces or a currency you can spend on pieces, none of that run affixes weekly for the box garbage

The problem is if u make a timed dungeon system like M+ it would increase the toxicity really since people would going hard if someone fail a mechanic or something in a dungeon and would leave when u are not able to time it anymore which would everytime waste ur time when u are already in a dungeon for a while but not able to finish it anymore when someone leave.

Perhaps if they remove the timer and go harder on the affix system combined with increasing enemy strength it may work, toxicity would likely be an issue but if they do this I feel like it shouldn’t be a matchmaking system like the higher keystones were, not to gatekeep the system but I feel like you should find a prebuilt party if this content can get truly grueling at higher levels, and that requires preset synergy
