What class do i need to play a dark knight

just starting out, i want to eventually be a dark knight. what class do i pick?

none turn into a dark knight, if you wanna tank you can start with gladiator or marauder

As the other person said, additionally you just have to be level 50 and gotten far enough into Heavensward to do the quest.

Yep you can level to 60 and finish the heavensward content

You can start Dark Knight when you get to the main hub in the first expansion.

So... like 200 hours into the game

you can do dungeons on free trial. the only things you cant do is social stuff like free companies, trading, and the market board

You can't do heavensward without being lv50 since MSQ are level locked lol.

yea, free trial is SUPER generous - you can do ANYTHING paid players can except:
- joining or creating group
- using market board
- hiring retainers
- 300k gil max
- using global chats and whisper
- joining guilds
maybe other small stuff.

i've bought it at lv 40
two main reasons:
300k gil limit (it's a lot, but not a VERY lot))
market board - if u want to craft it'll be useful
If u plan to play with friends or join a gild then starter kit is mandatory

BUT, IN GENERAL, yes, you can play game for free till shadowbringers expansion without any difficulties and paywalls.

Probably less than 100 hours these days.
