Can't connect to Data Center?

So I can't connect to my Data Center, my friend is playing just fine without any problems but I can't even connect. A few times I can connect but then my game crashes in the queue... Anyone else with this issue?

I'm currently stuck on a small queue of 15 but it just keeps flicking and not doing anything. I think the servers are still suffering from the DDOS attack?

They posted a "recovery" post on their website claiming it was fixed.

Well it looks like the Light servers are now getting attacked, I guess these DDOS idiots are just cycling.

Lights servers ? damn.. i wonder what caused those attacks ? not quite sure ive experienced ppl attacking the FF servers before, at least not when ive been actively playing

Yeah, logged in and can connect but my characters appear as ??? with data not available, try logging in and stuck in a queue of 100+ so definitely a DDOS attack I think.

Some people have nothing better to do than ruin other people's fun.

MMOs frequently become the target of DDoSers whenever they have a surge of players, because they're an easy target. It's easy for the attack to go unnoticed at first, since hey, massive influx of people during an expansion launch or the like is expected.

Then the DDoSers spin it as "look at how effective we are! Buy our service!" to their customers. Same thing happened during Stormblood's launch. Devs made some changes to login queues after that. But no system is perfect.

TL;DR: Opportunists and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

??? is normal when there are too many people in queue. The server can't send information to client due to congestion

I got ??? loads of time during weekend, way before DDOS. You don't need to logout and login. Just select your char and wait the queue
