If you're not pulling your weight and causing wipes in Extremes/Savage/Ultimate then suck it up. You're going to be called out.
My guess is the OP performed at the bare minimum and got called out for it. Probably wasn't even rude lol.
R.E.L.A.X.
However, calling people toxic is also rude? Sooooooooooo.
If its solo content and someone comes out of nowhere being rude to you, then yeah. The other kind of content, where your performance can directly affect everybody else, thats just how it is. That being said I don't personally get behind people taking this as a chance to take a dump on other people, but I also agree you should get called out if its not solo content.
You can offer advice without being toxic. Read the OP again.
You can tell somewhat what they're doing wrong, why it's wrong, and what they should do instead without being toxic. "It's group content therefore I must be toxic if you aren't good enough" is a terrible attitude.
Life's too short to get mad at someone for not being good at a video game. The only people in ff14 that piss me off anymore are people who purposely grief and tbh the kick/report feature is right there so I'm good.
We had an entire team wipe in guilded vale yesterday (let's be honest that dungeon is literally Satan) and I was like no big deal! Don't worry about it! I explained about the morbol fruit and hugging the walls in some places and we tried again and got it! Team wipes aren't the end of the world. That's why we respawn.
The thing is, "unreasonable expectations" could be literally anything, as we've seen time and time again on these discussions. I'm not in favour of being toxic, I just said that if the content depends on your performance, then it makes sense that people call you out.
take it eeeaaaasyy
for there is nothing we can do
Well I mean you can correct and inform folks who mess up without "calling them out" that sort of thing. Like if it's someone's first time running something and they don't perform the same as someone who's running it their 20th time they don't need to be called out they genuinely need guidance and information not someone telling them "git gud" and kicking them immediately.
Then if they act snide to you when you're being nice and explaining things you can just blacklist/vote kick them. I find approaching folks with a calm attitude first usually makes them more inclined to try and be better tho. There was a fellow who was very obviously trying to grief as a dps healer in the mansion and they ate ♥♥♥♥ pretty early on in the first miniboss room and I used my Phoenix down on them and asked if they needed to recharge their mp I'd wait and like after that they actually healed everyone and we finished with no other downs.
It really is amazing how many more flies you can catch with honey than with vinegar.
