Does Sub countdown start at soon as i redeem the game or after first login?

So i just bought the game and my internet is pretty bad 45gb is gonna take like couple days i was wondering if the sub count starts as soon as i redeem the code for FFXIV starter edition (which has 30days sub if im not mistaken ) on the website or after my first ingame login?

The sub starts the second you buy it. And this goes for other MMOs and other sub-based media like streaming services.

There's no "I'll wait til you can log into the game on the last day" or anything similar since it defeats the purpose of a sub even existing in the first place.

It does NOT start when you buy the game, it starts when you redeem the code on the website.

Though for OP that distinction does not matter much, since you can't download the game without having a subscription. Maybe you can start a trial account and download it that way before activating the code?

Sadly i bought the game thinking i could still download and play the trial but the trial version was replaced with shadowbringers on steam i guess i'll just wait till i have better connection and redeem the code and download it alltogether thanks for the info i appreciate it

It starts when you register the game on mogstation, regardless of what your whatever country you hail from galaxy brain thinks.

As far as squenix is concerned, you don't even own the game until you activate that code on mogstation.
