whats with the one time password?

ok so now that i finally got somebodys atttention, i need help with the one time password, still havnt even been able to play this game yet, can somebody walk me through it?

heres where im confused:

so i downloaded the token app so that i can get the one time passwords, but it says that i need a registration code for it to work. it says that to get the registration code, i have to log into account managment. to log into account management, i need a one time password... help!?

The one time password is optional, if you don't have registered a program to use it, you don't need it to log in.

(Although is recommended).

You don't actually need to put in a one-time password unless you've set it up. When logging in, just leave that space blank.

One-Time passwords are from the Square-Enix security token. You can download it to your Android phone for free or purchase a physical one for $12.00. I bought the physical one cause I don't trust certain family members with my phone.

so you either have to have a smart phone or you can buy a password? this is as ridiculous as the last FF game having to jump through hoops just to play the damn game.

would have been nice if they made that clear. i was going to try the demo and maybe lpay it but it seemed like i would need a smart phone or buy a password generator. oh well now my alloted trial time is up .
the hoops of having to register characters through some other website BS, log into that then log into the game etc.... the game ended up being terrible anyway and you could only play so many quests per 8 hours. total waste of $30

Would it really be so hard to take 5 seconds to google it? It pretty obvious its an autheticator system and is optional... even then there are people who would try to log in with it blank anyway... Im sorry they expected people to have atleast one brain cell to log in! (sadly even crappy players with zero brain cells have managed to log in and play)

Those are hardly hoops, and you clearly dont know what you are talking about, you dont register characters through the Mogstaion website, its a service account system, where you set up and manage your "Game Service Account" a fairly standard system that's been in use for some time now and used for tons of things. Its the same as setting up an account for any other online service, then simply putting a key in, like steam, or xbox live, or psn and countless others. You create your character in game like any other..

There is no quest limit per hour, wtf are you talking about? are you even playing the same game as us? The game was terrible in YOUR opinion, don't make generic statements about something thats clearly incorrect to anyone other than yourself. But it sounds like you barely even touched the game, MMO's aren't at their best within the first half of the lv cap.

I'll learn to read when im half asleep at 1am in the morning when you learn to spell "read" ;) either way i misread so i apologize if i sounded hostile, multiple dungeon runs with VERY crap players that wipe the party over and over will do that too you :L

I'm not sure if i'm following this correctly myself... but are you complaining about a game because it has the option for authentication... which you believed to be a primary password... then following to moan about an experience with what (I think...?) is another game back in 2008? And using it as a basis as to why you think this game is... bad...?

The launcher uses your Mogstation account password NOT the store page one.
