How well does this run on laptops?

I already own several other high-end desktops at my house, but 60% of the time I'm not in my house and use my laptop for portability reasons and curious to know how well it runs on laptops. (I also own a Mac Book Air.)

My laptop specs:
8GB RAM
Intel I5 3230M
GT 635M

Should I buy it now? Or should I wait and buy a real gaming laptop to play this?

got pretty much the same xept i got AMD HD8750M
i can run the game on High setting with a max of 30 fps which for me is fine cuse im used to console gaming..that been said i actually have it on Standard and hit 50 fps
forgot to mention that im doing endgame content thats is visually intensive due to the amount of stuff going on and its fine..so it comes down to if u want to play the game on the best possible graphics or u fine with just playing it xD

A 635M is not as powerful as the cards suggested in the minimum requirements. You will not be able to run it very well.

well as Shu said (i got no clue about that) if u find one with same specs just better graphic card u should be fine

it should run well enough on a laptop with those specs. i on occasion play on a surface pro tablet and it runs fine no lag on standard settings

I used to have a laptop with a GT 640M and a 2.7GHZ i7. This game ran great, and looked great using the "Laptop High" settings even when i'd connect it to my TV and play in 1080p. It still looked and ran great

My lappy isn't exactly designed for gaming. It has an i3 with 2.4ghz, a GT 620M graphics card and 4gb RAM - the game runs perfectly fine tough, up to endgame content.

I recommend using razor game boaster Download it cuz it really does put a little more power into your fps and overall gaming. Honestly I have a very bad graphics card and everything for a windows 8 touch screen laptop that was the main function touch haha.. Though with that download I'm able to get 20fps with everything on high and honestly that's enough for me..

I have iy7I play on maximum with the HDR disabled and the low-detail-shadows checked on i7 4702mq+ 740m and getting 40-60fps (drops to 30-40 in open world).

More importanty, get a laptop cooler. FFXIV uses alot of resources and its a guarantee your CPU will run on the warm side. So dont be surprised when playing FFXIV on a laptop not specifically geared towards gaming to run into heat related issues like the Laptop automatically shutting down or performance degradation during long play sessions (game stuttering etc).

All the game boosters do is temporarily shutdown background processes temporarily so your CPU has less of a load. They dont actually boost anything. Razors i think can also auto update drivers and also configure game settings for supported game much like Nvidia's Gefore Experience.

If you have about 2k dollars to blow, Gigabyte just came out with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Laptop. "The Aorus". XD

I have an i7 2670Qm with a 560M Nvidia and 12 Gigs. I am gettinga solid 30-40 fps with high settings / HDR on.

It runs pretty good on my laptop, but even better you can sign up for the in home streaming beta and stream it from your desktop to your laptop. That's how I play it normally, and it runs brilliantly.
