Sometimes i wish everyone here would be on same discord channel, where there would be no mods, filters or rules.
FF14 underground community, where opinions are verbal octagon where low blows and poking in the eyes are allowed.
PS. Has anyone ever had an argument here and then went to duel on Wolves den to settle it with a trial by combat? If not, that should totally be a thing. :P
And the ff14 community thought they weren’t as bad as the Wow community, turns out both are just the same lol.
He didn't do this until recently, and he still doesn't actually get it.

The OP is being very ignorant and also very arrogant about his own ignorance, he has been insulting people about it too in this thread you'd know that if you had actually been here and seen what was posted.
No one has ever said that FFXIV literally has no toxicity, just that it has significantly less compared to other games which I think is true.
But if there's anything to be learned from this thread it's that nuance is totally lost on a lot of people.

If you think this is bad you should check it out, there's literally people there with 80+ threads made in like three months that are all negative and completely unhinged filled with personal attacks towards the devs and anyone who disagrees with them.
There's people that are actually known both on the forum and outside the forum for being toxic and perpetually negative and angry about everything.
Some streamers even use the forum for content, everyone knows that the forum is a toxic cesspool.
I've never experienced actual toxicity ingame tho.
The worst I've ever experienced since ARR is some rather mild saltiness in PF which is nothing at all compared to what I've experienced in basically every other game.
When people say that the community is great they're talking about it ingame, not on Twitter or on forums or whatever.
Only hearsay and theories have been thrown here, not a single evidence of proof to debunk his opinion.

And i feel if FF14 vs WoW community octagon fight would ever happen.. WoW community would get KO'd the F out instantly. WoW people been toxic and fighting each others for years face to face, in game and on discord. Meanwhile FF14 gang has been keeping a smiley face on, collecting all that bottled up frustration from trying to help people like wow refugees who are often not able to even register a service account.. we are not the same.
When the gloves would come off, my money would be on FF14 gang. All that sweet rage finally unleashed.

The weak, desperate and blatantly incorrect arguments coming out of the rest of you are what compelled me to stay here correcting people for as long as I did. I recall you being the guy that insisted weaving on a 1.5s GCD with a 0.5s buffer is impossible. The majority of others were insisting this would completely break the game, and their only example was the fact it would cause a moderate DPS loss. Hell, two of you even insisted that FFXIV is a TURN BASED game to counter this thread.

Well acting and looking cute doesn't really work as it seems. sadly FF14 got big temporary boost due to the WoW refugees and big streamers and now its hardly even being streamed again lol. So thats telling and wow players did expose the problems that FF14 does have, community wise and signing up issues. oh well, one side would always see themselves as the better version eh. lol
Well yeah.. in game majority (like 98% i'd say even) are chill and good people, impossible ever to have full 100% but it really is the best community in my experience out of all mmo games i've played so far.
Games before FF14, the things i saw and did hear. I was not even an adult yet when i joined pvp groups/discords on other games. The things i did hear and witness on voice chat and also "exposed clips" where people edited YT videos when they killed their fellow players, those clips had like sexual assault scenes edited in. Not even joking, like also doxing, literal real life death threats and stuff. Well, at least i learned what boys talk about when they play pvp, it's 50% about boobs and 50% about doing someone's mom. I was raised by mmo game groups.
And i'm fine, right? Right? :D
But yes, i was amazed for months when joined FF14, the community was so chill and sometimes was almost even weirded out how nice people were. On my 1st day in game some randoms came to just trade me gil and minions. Just like that, not even talking other than smiley and saying "have fun!". :) Later i found out that some like to give sprouts gifts, that it's a thing actually. Like some gave those xmas clothers on xmas even to everyone, made me smile.
Like not even gotta lie if say that playing FF14 did me good, showing that there are kind people most of them and always helpful. Sometimes here maybe just a bit hard sometimes, when people tend to even if try not to mirror those who bring in the bad vibes. You sort of get drawn to that same mood. You know, when someone yawns, then everyone else soon also does.. :D
Like if someone asks for help, but then gets angry after hearing the right answer and what to do.. you can only do it so many times before becoming a walking sarcasm punch line machine. :D

Like Asmongold bought the game twice, both steam and SE store version, he said himself.. because did not read the instructions lol. And everyone knows he barely reads anything and has some form of dyslexia based on watching him read the texts on his stream. He gives "funny" names on characters that he cannot read/pronounce.
It makes good content tho, obviously so his chat can KEKW spam to it.
Not sure if WoW players can talk about the signing up without doing a self burn.
WoW players are like the Jackass crew of mmo players, they are good at hitting each others in the nuts with a baseball bat, but not good at reading. :P

I joke about stuff tho, but it's never intended to be toxic but always said with a smile. Like even when cannot read it from the text. But poking a bit of fun is nice. Playing the games we love and talking about the should be a fun thing and not too serious.
But yeah, our community is passionate about the game because we love it, and feels protective about it. I feel that is the reason that mostly gets topics heated here. Because we like to keep the core functions of the game as it is, to stay as the game we love.
Like on this topic, i feel FF14 core fundamental GCD with the weavables is a classic and still there for a reason, it is balanced for a decade and our GCD allows the game content, skill ceiling/floor and dynamics be accessible for majority of the players, it's enjoyed by the big majority from casuals, midcore to hardcore players. And changing that would change the entire game.
They can create classes/phases/skills/gimmicks (like special zone thingies like on Eureka or Bozja special ability boosters) that makes combat "faster" or different, but they are not, and should not, touch the core function of the game. And i say that as a MNK enjoyer.
I've seen on other games what happens when devs break core fundamental of the game, it created endless balance nightmare, games rules turning completely up and down every 3 months in desperate effort of trying to find something that works (looking at you ESO combat team) after breaking up their own game.
