FYI: The Road to 80 (Population Balancing Incentives)

HOLY BEEP YOU GUYS.

So I made a new toon on one of the new servers for a variety of reasons, and between all of the bonus XP items and the server buff, I am COMFORTABLY leveling 3 classes at the same time. I did a handful roulettes in the mid 40s to even them out (I let my dps drag), but with paying SLIGHT attention to which class I'm turning stuff in on, they stay apace. Leveling other, lower classes, with all of the the buffs to that XP is...wow.

I will say that dungeon queue times make me really really glad Data Center Travel is a thing. I could NOT get the second part of the Crystal Tower raid to pop as a healer after about ~45 minutes in queue a couple of times, so I popped over to Primal and it popped and I was done -- total time of travel, queue, and finish dungeon was less than the time I would have waited for the dungeon to pop.

That's the link to the writeup, but in a nutshell, if you make a toon on the new server cluster, you get 10 silver chocobo feathers on login, and the double XP bonus until 80. If you've never taken advantage of the new server bonus, you ALSO get 1M gil at level 30. And also, 15 days game time. The queue times are still a bit painful, but if more of you jokers come participate, they'll get better -- and until that happens, we now have DC travel and can jump over to Primal or Aether to do dungeons.

The incentive to transfer characters over is also pretty generous, but I haven't done that.

Though I gotta say, to re-experience the story you don't need to make a new character, New Game+ is a feature that lets you replay it.

i've tried the NG+ before and thinks i'ts awful.

if i could level my character through the story again with a new class with all the quests reset, that would be great.

When you first log into the game, there's START, DATA CENTER, etc. Select DATA CENTER, then choose Dynamis. All 4 servers on Dynamis are NEW -- that's Halicarnassus, Maduin, Marilith, and Seraph.

I decided to take the plunge, and do it all over again, because I love the story so much.
Sadly, I wanted to get on Seraph because a server with an angel name! But it was not accepting new apps. So I just started on Halicarnassus as a Padjal, because the the seedseer is the best of the 3 in my opinion. Balanced thought processes and a gem of a personality. What server is your newbie on Sunny?

dynamis is a really nice DC, too. a little quiet rn but honestly some of the nicest folks i've met in the game so far. kinda hope it stays quiet, it reminds me of old mateus.

I only went to Dynamis for hunt trains, and sometimes we're only about 2 parties so we actually have to deal with mechanics, it's kinda fun compared to the melting hunt marks at 100+ people.

The 1 million gil bonus sounds fantastic. i am already level 18, not sure i like the xp boost as i like a challenge while leveling but it is what it is (unless i can deactivate it!)

Even without xp boost the MSQ gives you way more than enough XP to level up.

It basically says that they will give you 500k for unrecoverable apt items.

afaik the only thing i really lose when i server hop is my active jumbo cactopot tickets.
