// AGAINST TOS .COM //
I only use GShade (which doesn't get broken by 99% of updates), ACT (which breaks but is updated on the same day as the update every time) and XIVLauncher so that I can use ACT in fullscreen mode.
I would use DelvUI and stuff but I really can't be bothered with my whole UI breaking and souring what should be a positive experience every time there's a patch.
Never claimed otherwise - It's a community thing. We generally warn people that mods are indeed against TOS to cover everyone's ass and inform people new to mods that this is in fact not WoW - where Mods are not only welcome but kind of required for a lot of content these days.
They only ban for automation (botting), "mods" (cheats) that are detrimental to other people's gameplay, or sharing screenshots/videos of NSFW lewd mods.
They don't ban for personal use of aesthetic mods or parsers.
So SE has a odd stance on mods, they dont actively ban accounts on a game level however if you display info like you character name while talking about or showing mods SE has been known to track down your character and ban the connected account.
To put it simply, if you use mods either dont talk about them or at the very least keep the character name as hidden as possible so it cant be traced back to your character.
Sort of a dont ask dont tell type deal
100% not true.
People stream/upload content to YouTube with mods and the devs don't care. The devs often share screenshots that were taken with GShade.
Example.
If you have ACT and you as a warrior are 2nd from top in terms of DPS. Don't confront those two dps and mention that you're using act to see everyones numbers.
I don't know about nude mods and how SE hands those. I imagine they likely don't want Twitter flooded with nsfw material that could damage their games image.
Thats because gshade is officially whitelisted by SE and FFXIV
Using ACT or talking about ACT isn't reportable. Using the data that you get from ACT to harass people is reportable.
With the lewd mods, I think they don't want people to see screenshots like that and not realise that they're seeing a modded version of the game.
Source?
Also, funny how you completely ignore the comments about ACT and other mods... Yoshi-P has been pretty vocal about not liking ACT and preferring if players don't use it, but they still don't ban people for using it. Loads of streamers are using ACT, MaterialUI, DelvUI, etc. The devs don't care. They don't ban anyone.
Source is on Gshade's official site listing it in bold as a officially whitelisted game along with PSO2.
As for ACT i didnt address it because i know very little about it and didnt want to spread potential misinformation.
True, but it is still a gray area.
There wouldn't be anything stopping them from nailing you for using it as like a side charge for posting lewd screenshots using it or something to that effect.
The argument often is that Gshade doesn't manipulate any game files, which is true. However, neither does ACT. The issue isn't in using ACT itself but rather what you do with the information. The same can be said for shaders.
Yeah, the point that I was making was that it would specifically be harassing other players that would get someone banned, not just talking about ACT.
