Those are actually new races compared to most of the races in FFXIV. The ones you wanted are from XII which comes way later than XI. The first 5 races in XIV are heavily inspired by XI, even Shantotto minion description said it looks like a Lalafell, rhymes like a Lalafell and alliterates like a Lalafell.

P.S: Shantotto from XI is a different shortie from Shantoto the ancient BLM from XIV. Probably sisters from another dimensions.

Hehe, I think they will add Viera's with time, when their race fits the theme. This expansion released the Aura (dragon race) for two reasons, first, they wanted a XIV original race, os they couldnt use a race from another FF game, and second, the Aura lore fits Ishgard a bit better, even tho, they are not truly dragons, it just fits the whole dragon theme.


Miqo'te for life! I am happy they have the races they do now, but I do hope they add more races from previous FFs, there were some pretty cool looking ones back then.

Those aren't "old" races in FF, and really every FF sort of takes place in it's own reality and the only consistent races are Humes/Hyur/Humans/Hyumans and Moogle's.
