The newest form of PvP is large (think 18v18v18) game of domination between 3 teams over several control points that are out in the open with various monster roaming around.
It's 3 Alliances, so 24v24v24. It's going to be a bit like a smaller, faster version of GW2's WvW. That gets added in in 2 weeks. The other type is light party (4v4) arena combat.
Arena PvP is separated into lvl 30, 40, 50.
Frontline PvP is lvl 50.
No duel, yet. There's Arena, so most likely they will add one. Then again, the game is heavily role specific so duel would not really work. That's why it's party PvP (1 tank 1 healer 2 DPS) or large scale.
No cross hair mode in 1st person camera mode (default key is Home).
The game is not focus on PvP, Final Fantasy has never had focus in PvP.
