why do i have an additional 15 days of playtime remaining?

Im guessing you bought the game 15 days ago?

When you buy the game, it includes 30 days of playtime as per the store page. If you have 15 days remaining, that means you will need to buy more game time in 15 days as this is a monthly subscription MMO.

no, i bought the game once, played or owned it for 2 days and then noticed i have 43 days of playtime left

mhm in 10 days youll get a email saying "your sub is about to run out, renew it now" or when you try to log it it will prompt you to go to the store and renew

Well the subscriptions do come in 30 days 90 days or 180 days. Also 60 day game time cards. So you probably have used one of those options.

You better look on Mogstation to check your subscription as to what you have done in the past.

it's not 30 days playtime it's 30 days real time as of activation

They give you an additional 15 days as a reward, It happened to me when I subbed for the first time.

If you made a toon on a Dynamis server, you get an additional 15 days when you get a toon to level 30 for the first time. You should also have received 1M gil.
