Do you need other crafting classes alongside Culinarian to do pentamelding? Can pentamelded gear even be traded and/or sold on the market board?
But if cryptlurker can be upgraded to BIS level - crafter gear cannot be
So the only way is to craft gear with slots
What iLvl would the gear be? Everything that I saw on the MB was only 490 and had drastically lower stats than White Scrip gear, certainly too low for Materia to make up the difference.
Austrian Economics everyone.
With the exception of the frypan, which is created using expert crafting this is the gear you will need (including Materia) in order to stand a chance at getting expert crafting to work.
This late in the expansion you should be able to buy the gear off an Omnicrafter for about 1 million Gil.
HOWEVER... the Materia is a totally different story.
Materia can be farmed each week with the customised deliveries, but that's a slow process.
If you're impatient and want to get it done now than you're going to be dropping somewhere in the ballpark of 100 million Gil or so.
The last 3 materia slots have a 10% / 7% / 5% chance of being applied to gear, and it's destroyed on failure, hence the absurd pricetag.
If you want to know anything more, or have specific questions feel free to DM me and I'll see what I can do.
But expert crafting really isn't worth it. It is only needed for getting the crafter artifacts, and they will be cosmetic only in a couple of weeks. And be much easier to get to boot.
You can get mog tickets and skybuilder scrips far faster with just doing the level 80 White Ishgard crafts, with the bonus that they can be done by macro.
Level 80 white -
Time: 30 second macro
Scrip: 63
Mog ticket: One every 2.5 minutes
Ishgard points: 30
Level 80 expert -
Time: 3.5 minute average, varies. Requires complete attention.
Scrip: 95
Mog ticket: One every 20 minutes or so
Ishgard points: 175 - 875. I average 500 or so. Getting the full 875 is tough.
I can get mog tickets and scrip 5x faster doing the white crafts with far less headache.
