Wuk Lamat's voice should be changed or the VA should try harder.

Who at SQUENIX thought that this choice of a VA was okay? They don't have any range. Honestly the worst voice in the game. I honestly think that the ARR VA's were a lot better.

I'm a bit tired of people coming to Bryer's defense just because the voice directing is bad, or worse give her a free pass because she's trans. Yes, it takes 'two to tango' as it were, but bad voice directing is only part of the equation.

Sena Bryer is just awful in this role. I've seen one of demo audio reels of her other voice overs and some of them are pretty good, but when it comes to this South American(?)-esque accent or whatever the hell Wuk Lamat is supposed to sound like it sounds awful and she is seemingly incapable of projecting and showing any emotion besides joviality. The few times Wuk Lamat was supposed to sound upset or frustrated it sounded so stilted at best and frankly terrible at worst.

Sounds fine to me. But I understand a lot of people might not hang out with Latin/Latin American women so they aren't use to the different voice tones.

It's not the actor, it's the director. EVERY VA in the english dub ♥♥♥♥♥ up their lines in this expac. When it's the whole damn cast doing it, it's a direction problem.

It's not the case for Japanese VA who did an amazing work with what she had, there is clearly a difference between a VA who is voicing her heart out and VA who just doesn't bother.

With that being said a better VA would make getting interphros in trial roulette a lot less painful lol

Wuk Lamat is awful no matter the language used.

I only use Japanese, and the voice actress does a decent job, yet it is nowhere near enough to carry her character. The writing for Dawntrail is just atrociously bad. The worst you're probably (hopefully) ever going to see in XIV.

If I cared enough to spend more time at it, I would find more clips of Alphi and Minfillia specifically. I think a lot of people are forgetting how horrific some of it was.

I hang out with a lot of latin/latin american/hispanic women. Even play with some. Wuk Lamat's VA in english is objectively terrible. You can still enjoy the performance, like people enjoy The Room or the Hulk movies, but they are still objectively bad movies. Please stop trying to sound smart just to defend something you want to defend, and don't gaslight us with "You just don't hang out with enough X"
