Confused as to how Fish Eyes works?

Hey all, I know it seems a bit like a redundant question but I can't get a clear answer on wikis for this one lol. So, for example one of the wikis states "This action has no effect on legendary fish, fish found when ocean fishing, or any fish introduced from Endwalker onward." Does that mean that it can work for legendary fish that are not in Endwalker and I assumed Dawntrail? If so, what exactly does it do lol?

Does it allow me to go for a Big Fish (Legendary) in say ARR regardless of weather effect and time? Or does it only negate time?

It's listing three categories:
* Does not work on legendary fish
* Does not work on fish in Ocean Fishing (specifically, when you're on the boat instance. It does not refer oceans in general)
* Does not work on fish from Endwalker or Dawntrail

Just a case of English being a bit imprecise.

So no, it will not let you bypass the weather/time requirements of legendary fish. (This is why 100%ing the fishing log is a path to madness.)
